Course Description
This course is designed to provide participants with the technical and theoretical aspects of sound and sound production equipment that will complement their operational knowledge. The course will investigate the theory of sound and hearing, acoustics and electroacoustics and analogue and digital audio with particular reference to the film and TV sound environments.
The course is essentially practical and provides you with the opportunity to pursue an intensive programme in the practice of sound design and music technology. It is presented through a series of lectures, seminars, workshops and projects and includes aspects of sound design for other electronic media. You will be able to demonstrate a maturity of attitude to the production of creative work. We are seeking to enhance, develop and update your contextual knowledge and practical skills in a supportive and creative environment. By the end, you will be able to demonstrate your skills with original pieces of work and designs of original sounds.
